thank you for joining us on these journeys...

internal, external, individual, shared, in place, in movement, with friends, with family, with lovers, with strangers, with soul mates, with teachers, with guides, in body, in formlessness, through fire and heat, with rains and oceans, with breezes and storms, under the stars and the moon and the sun and the planets, with dust and dirt and mud, with flowers and butterflies, with arousing smells, in mind, in the heart, in the soul, in spirit, in this life time, in past life times, through time, in timelessness, in laughter, in tears, with screams of joy fear and pain, in silence, linear, clear, vague, zigzag, full of curves, with tons of detours, with a purpose, without a destination...

A quicky in Segovia

So Friday was spent at the pool and recovering from travel. which consisted of two bus rides and a metro ride in between. but still, ok, i could accept this. so now it is Saturday and I demand – yes, demand – that we do some sight seeing. The planner and do-er in me are going nuts and I’m starting to feel like I’m “wasting” time, being too lazy, not taking advantage of the time and place where we are. Nisarga on the other hand thinks we are doing great and well and feels absolutely no urgency, dare I say no desire even, to sightsee. So I have a little breakdown. So there we are, on Saturday at 4pm, with our asses finally out the door, trying to catch a train to Segovia, about an hour away from where we are staying. Unfortunately it takes us double that time to get there since trains on Saturday run on limited schedule, and the last one back is just before 9 so we have less than 3 hours to see whatever we can.

we had a quick self-guided tour of
Segovia. We found it amazing that the place was soooo deserted! Doors and windows shut, no one but tourists on the streets. Granted most tourists were Spaniards, but they were clearly not from Segovia. We went to the grocery store to pick up some snacks for the train ride home and found that they were only stocked with non-perishable goods; no meats, vegetables, fruits. It was like a pretty ghost town with visitors!

What we did see of Segovia, we found quaint and charming. The old town of Segovia is a protected UNESCO world heritage site.
